Fresh and Clean - Spring Shelves

Oh my goodness - this day got away from me!  We just got nailed with a crazy thunderstorm - tornado watch and all.  I am a totally crazy weather nut.  Tornado season is like my Christmas!  I obviously don't wish for a tornado for anyone, but the storms that come with it are pretty insane and fun to watch.

So...with the storms, spring has officially arrived - and so has my spring decor!  LOL.  Yesterday I posted my dining room decorations, and today I have my built-in shelves to share.  I wanted to keep everything clean and fresh, and incorporate some colored glass (and my very small collection of sea glass).

This display makes me say ahhhh...(I am such a dork I know)...

Happy Spring!  If you are affected at all by this storm system, stay safe!

Dining Room Spring Makeover

76 degree weather has me buzzing today!  All of the windows are open, and I am cleaning and redecorating!  It feels so good to have the fresh air in the house, and clear all of the winter decor out to make room for spring!

The first room I want to share today is the dining room.  I don't have a before of the table, but do have one of my buffet.  Remember those Ikea mirrors I refinished?

Well I really loved the way they looked on the wall, but wasn't happy with the way the buffet looked.  Here's what it looked like before:

And here's the after:

And here's the little display I set up on my dining room table:

I was really wanting something light, but layered.  When the great room built-in's are done I will share those as well.  I also think I may have come up with a temporary solution for the monster striper!!

Till tomorrow!

Creative Therapy

Much like retail therapy, today I needed a little creative therapy.  I had a vision for a headband yesterday and needed to get to work on it before it escaped me.  The weather here is beautiful, and naturally, my mind goes to the water.  Lake, ocean...doesn't matter, just water.  So I channeled all things nautical and came up with this beauty.

Addison wasn't even willing to entertain the thought of a photo shoot today, so I had to do some modeling myself!  LOL.  I am not a model, but did my best to show off the headband.  Not to mention, when we got down to the dock she had a meltdown and thought the ducks and geese were going to get her!  (We went to feed the ducks one day and they went into a little frenzy - now she's terrified).  Not happening for sure.

Have a great weekend!  I hope the weather where you are is as beautiful as it is here.  I thing that spring may have arrived for good!

New Business Cards & A Little Prayer

I need to apologize for the lack of posting over the past week or so.  My life has been so crazy - both good and bad.  The good, as I have mentioned, was that I have had a lot of orders to fill - love that.  The bad is that my mom has been having some pretty serious health issues.  I don't want to get into the details yet for a few reasons.  First, we are still waiting for a ton of tests to come back, so really don't know the full scale of what we are looking at yet.  Second - she will probably kill me for even bringing this up on my blog.  I am just so worried, and talking about it helps me cope a bit.  My mother is my very best friend and this has been hard on me.  I am staying as positive as I can, but it doesn't help me stress out any less.  Sorry for being so vague, that all I can say for now.  I know I have been a little distant and distracted and wanted you all to know why.  Please just keep her in your thoughts and prayers - we need all we can get right now.

I feel weird writing about business cards after that, but still wanted to share these with you.  I had a hard time focusing today, but I managed to get these done.  If you've been following me for awhile, you know that I recently updated the look and branding of my blog.  Since I was filling quite a few new orders lately, and running out of my old business cards, I decided today to work on some new ones.  I decided to print on a heavy cardstock, and then spray mount some printed paper to the back.  I am going to use a variety of designs for the backs because I thought it would be cool if they were all a little different.  Here's the first batch.  I'm not sure why every time I take pics of printing on white paper it turns out so light...guess I need to play with the camera settings...

Thanks for listening - have a great weekend!

All done - Complete Baby Boy Scrapbook!!

Well, hello there!  I am so so so excited with the way this baby book came out.  I'm about to inundate you with photos, I will apologize in advance - I am just so proud!!  LOL.  This book literally started with two chipboard covers and a bunch of paper.  Everything here is hand cut, scored, sewn, assembled, covered, glued and tied.  I even wrapped the chipboard covers and lined the insides like a real book.  Love doesn't even begin to express how I feel about this book - you would think I was actually talking about a baby, right?  The only thing I have to do before delivering it is to add photo corners to all of the mounts so that the mommy can just slip her 4x6 photos in.

Ok - ready??  Here is my love:

What do you think?  I adore it - now I have to get to work on two more...whew - that was a lot of work, but so worth the outcome!

Have a great day!!
