Craft Frenzy - Part 1

So, I had quite the weekend!  My friend Ginger and I craft together quite a bit - we both love making stuff - and everytime we get together it turns into a CRAFT FRENZY!  We haven't done this in awhile, so as you can imagine, it was a little like being on crafting celibacy.  On Saturday, she sent me a text asking if I wanted to bring over all of my unused jewelry so that we could join forces (and stuff) and re-style everything into new, fun things to wear.  I was so excited!  I have been wanting to do this for awhile, but it kept moving to the bottom of my list.  FUN!!  Needless to say, we drank a lot of wine, and stayed up until 4am (typical for us).  Isn't it fun crafting with friends?

So - I have a lot of things to show you.  So much so, that I am going to have to break this post up into two parts.  This is what we started with (some of it isn't shown) - big pile of broken necklaces, pieces and parts, some earrings, bracelets - you name it.

And here are some of the things we made.  For the first necklace, I just added some braided cotton yarn and wound it around the beads for a nautical look:

This second necklace started out as a pile of beads from various necklaces.  I reconstructed this one from scratch on some hemp twine and then added some ribbon to the neck:

The third project was Ginger's favorite.  I showed her how to make the burned satin flowers - she catches on fast!!  LOL.  (She's awesome, seriously).  These started out as old flip flops she wears to the pool, and ended up looking totally beautiful!

So, for the rest (I will share a one more today and the rest tomorrow), we don't have any closeup before pics.  Sorry - the wine made me forget!!  You might be able to see a few pieces in my pile above.

Whew!!  We were busy, right???  We had a total blast!

Till tomorrow!
