Sweet Shoppe Sample 2

I actually finished this a few days ago, but am just now getting the chance to post it.  This weekend flew by, didn't it?  I love the way this sample came out.  I used elements from the original design and then added a bit of dimension.  All in all, I think the only thing I would change would be to make the lollipop stick a bit longer.  My client chose the first sample...but I think I might like this one a little better.  Maybe...I don't know - they both came out cute!  What do you all think?

Till tomorrow!  I am finishing up an order for custom door signs for 3 little ones.  They are coming out so cute - can't wait to share!!  AND - I really want to get working on those fun finds from Good Will.  One day at a time, right?  I wish I didn't have to sleep!

My Treasures from Goodwill

A new Goodwill Store opened by my house about a year ago, and until yesterday I had yet to go!!  What I was waiting for, I have no clue - I drive past it all the time.  Well, yesterday afternoon I dragged hubby and Addie and off we went.  I wanted to see what kind of furniture they had, and although there were a few good items, they weren't really what I was looking for, so I refrained.  I did, however, make quite a dent in the accessories department.

I have been wanting some white vases to display (not sure where yet, maybe the guest room), and found a bunch of those.  I also found some really cute frames that I have some ideas for, a really cool silver platter that I may turn into a chalkboard, and a cool bronze container thingy, which is perfect for my kitchen.  Once these items find a new life and new home, I will definitely post what I do with them.

Here are my treasures:

I got all of that for under $30.  When we walked out I told hubby that I felt like I robbed the place!  LOL.  Can't wait to work on this stuff!!!

Sweet Shoppe Birthday Party Invite Samples

I recently had a customer ask me to make some 1st birthday party invites with a Sweet Shoppe theme.  I always try to make samples for my customers so they can choose which invite style they like.  This party has a pink and yellow color scheme (which seems to be MY theme colors lately, LOL) - it's popular for sure!

This is what I have come up with so far.  The backs are lined with a patterned cardstock (that may change a bit depending on what kind of paper I can find).  For the sample, I used what I had in the house, but will need to change it up to something similar, but most likely different, for the final invites.

I like these so far, now onto sample #2!

Woo Hoo - Finished!!

We actually finished the floors last night - all that's left is to apply a coat of polyurethane and installing the baseboards - but my sis came home last night and I didn't want to post the final product until she saw it!  She was so happy, they came out just as she wanted them to - wow...what a lot of work.  Thanks to Handy Man and his helper who did most of the work.  I played the role of painter and slave driver :)

Here they are - I'm so proud!!  Can't wait to see the room all put together!

Here's the Before:

And the After:

My Bro-In-Law hasn't seen them yet - not till Friday!  If anyone reading this knows him, don't say a word!!  (I don't think he'll be reading my blog...)!
