Vintage Boarding Pass Invites

Just finished (and shipped!) and order for an "Around the World" themed bridal shower.  This one took me awhile to finish - a lot of work!!  Plus, I had a little hiccup on the night before it was going to ship.  I was on the final stretch, just had to stuff the boarding passes into the folder, and wrap the belly band on, when I realized that I had a typo on EVERY invitation!!  I spelled "Bridal Registration" as "Bridal Registeration".  I was sooo upset!  So, since all of the invites were personalized with the recipients name, I had to fix the error, re-lay all of them out, re-print, and re-handcut all of them.  This was all at 10pm.  Needless to say - I was up until 1am that night fixing them! 

This is the full invite - boarding pass, folder and belly band.  

The wedding colors were peacock blue and sangria.  I used the theme, and created a vintage map boarding pass.

In the end, I was really happy with the way they turned out. I hope my customer likes them!!  Can't wait until she receives them!!!

Hard at Work in the Kitchen

As you all know - I have been hard at work in the kitchen, but not only with cooking!!  Last week we finished the new table, and I spent the weekend painting (by myself I might add).  Hubby flat out told me he didn't want to paint, so I gave new meaning to the phrase "Do it Yourself".  It's not perfect, and I got some paint on the ceiling, but oh well.  It's done, and I am soooo happy!  Everytime I walk in there I get a HUGE smile on my face.  It is so Cottage-y - just the look I was going for - and well, I feel so relaxed and at home in there now.  It's me, totally me. There is a lot more to be done - I have no window treatments over the sink, of which I am looking around now trying to figure out what I want to do.  I also have a sign that I want to paint for over the pantry door, add a chandelier where the builder-grade (ugh!) fixture is now over the table, and start organizing and using my mail center for what it is there for - uh, MAIL!

With a few new coats of pretty blue paint (Offshore Mist by Behr), here it is now - Cottage-fied (like my new word?)

See the white vase in the basket??  That was one of my Goodwill finds.

And the fun bronze tray thingy is also from Goodwill!!  Love it!

The Piece de Resistance was the chalkboard I added to a small wall between the kitchen and great room.  I have been so scared to do this, but am SO glad I did.  I am in love with it!

And for those of you who think I might be a neat freak - HA!  Here proves the contrary!!  I moved all of my piles to the mail center to take these pics. This area tends to be a collection of all of our junk.  I am working on some organization ideas for this space, and also need a day to toss all of the junk that collects here.  I would like to actually use it for mail!

Oceans of Thanks

The past few days have been so busy!  My sister's baby shower is coming fast, and I spent most of the week making her invitations.  I can't wait to show you everything I am doing for the shower - I wish I didn't have to keep it all a surprise.  I'm not good at happy surprises, I admit it.  I get so excited about good, happy news that I have a hard time keeping it to myself.  BUT, since I spoiled the date for my sister's bridal shower (and then had to change the date), I guess I better keep this one under wraps.

In addition to those invitations, yesterday I received a request for a custom listing in my Etsy shop.  This customer was interested in some thank you cards for a birthday party that she was throwing for her son and daughter at a nearby aquarium.  She pretty much left the design up to me (love that!), but just asked for it to fit her theme and incorporate the party colors (turquoise, orange and pink).  As soon as she told me the theme and color scheme, I immediately had an idea in my head.

They came out exactly how I had envisioned them.  Now I just have to finish assembling and ship them out!

All done - Complete Baby Boy Scrapbook!!

Well, hello there!  I am so so so excited with the way this baby book came out.  I'm about to inundate you with photos, I will apologize in advance - I am just so proud!!  LOL.  This book literally started with two chipboard covers and a bunch of paper.  Everything here is hand cut, scored, sewn, assembled, covered, glued and tied.  I even wrapped the chipboard covers and lined the insides like a real book.  Love doesn't even begin to express how I feel about this book - you would think I was actually talking about a baby, right?  The only thing I have to do before delivering it is to add photo corners to all of the mounts so that the mommy can just slip her 4x6 photos in.

What do you think?  I adore it - now I have to get to work on two more...whew - that was a lot of work, but so worth the outcome!
