Confessions of a "Blogger"

I'm going to start by addressing the very large elephant in the room.  I haven't blogged since January.  In fact, I bet no one will even read this post it's been so long since I have written anything.  I love writing this blog; however, for me it just got to the point where I was placing some very large and unrealistic expectations on myself.  Trying to constantly come up with ideas, writing, taking pics, editing pics - it was too overwhelming for me.  I used to have a lot more time on my hands, and once Morgan was born, the early morning time I had set aside for blogging was replaced with time spent with him.  I had to make a choice, and in the end, the blog needed to be set aside for a bit.

I've been keeping busy with my Etsy shop though - have expended my stationery line and am introducing more printable invitations as we speak.  I have also been designing some cute themes for friends and clients that found me through word of mouth as well.  Morgan had his first birthday party in March (will share pics soon), and Addison's 7th birthday is coming up in about a month.

This blog is most likely going to be moving in a new direction.  I'm still working out all of the details in my head.  It's not at all a planned endeavor, I just want to focus more.  I will definitely be posting less than I used to - no more 1x per day - can't hack it.  I miss writing - and sharing, so I want to get back to the way it was when I started...just a fun way to share the things I love - at my leisure.

Friday I'm In Love - Winter Edition

Happy Friday everyone!  It's that time again.  As I slowly but surely take down my Christmas decor and replace it with some winter stuff, I started looking towards blogland to see what others have come up with.  I found a roundup of some beautiful things and wanted to share my finds with you all!  Happy decorating!!

Deb from Homeward Found found an economical way to spruce up some glass vases with sweater arms!  I love the warmth this adds - so cozy!

I love that Jill from Create.Craft.Love. kept the sparkle of Christmas in her Winter Mantle.  The addition of the chicken wire frame is perfect for a rustic touch!

Love that The Country Farm Home kept the evergreens around in her winter decor!  A girl after my own heart!

All I can say about this next Winter Mantle display is GORGEOUS!!  Allison from The Golden Sycamore outdid herself on this one.  Love all of the different textures, and that key!!

It was 27 degrees this morning when I dropped Morgan off at daycare.  Baby it's Cold Outside!  How beautiful is this chalkboard frame from The Charming Zebra?  And the sentiment couldn't be more fitting!

New Year and a New Look!

You may have noticed that some things have changed around here!  I decided that I needed a little bloggy pick me up.  I spent 12+ hours this weekend revamping my blog design, and I couldn't be happier with it!  I have a few more little features to add, but on the whole, I love it.

If you all notice anything wonky, please let me know.  I haven't tested it in all browsers yet, I still need to get my hands on a PC to see what it looks like in IE.

In addition to my blog revamp, I have a whole list of house projects for the new year.  Some small, some big, but all things that hubby and I have been wanting to do for awhile.  I am looking forward to the new year and what it will bring!

That brings me to our holiday cards from this year.  There is a little New Year's message at the end!  Hope you all have a very Happy New Year with lots of love and happiness!

Holiday Recap

Well, this post is late...really late.  But, better late than never, right?  I hope you all have had a wonderful Christmas - ours was hectic but we had some great family time!  Just wanted to write a quick holiday recap post to share some of my Christmas decor.  I said I was going to post my mantle weeks ago, so here she is in all of her glory (even though some of it is about to come down).  I will share my winter update soon though!

I also love to update my built in shelves for each season.  The mantle and shelves come hand-in-hand!

And just a little ditty I hung in my foyer - this will stay up for the winter season!
