Bubblegum Fun

You may remember a few weeks ago I featured an adorable bubblegum necklace from One Charming Party in my Friday I'm In Love favorites.  I said I was going to make one for Addie for Valentine's Day, and well - I stuck to my promise!

The instructions required using a metal skewer to poke holes in the bubblegum.  Hubby was hovering over me the entire time saying "I know you - you're going to end up stabbing yourself".  SO TRUE - I am a total klutz!!  So, he discovered a way to make the skewer slide right through the hard gumball.  If you heat up the point of the skewer with a lighter - it goes right in, no slipping or chance of "stabbing yourself".  Just a little tip!

The necklace was super easy to make, and Addison LOVED it! I think these would also be great for party favors as well - may have to do these in July for Addie's birthday party!

Have a great Thursday!  One more day till the weekend!!

XOXO

New Stationery Line

Hey everyone!!  I have been playing around with some designs for a new line of personalized stationery that I am thinking about selling in my Etsy Shop.  I would love to get your feedback!

I have been on a graphic kick for a bit, and wanted to bring it into some of my paper goods.  I think graphics scream for bright colors, and I really liked the way everything came together.

Of course, I had to get in on the Chevron trend - this is what inspired the whole line!

Then I started thinking....how 'bout stripes??

Then, naturally, my brain went to circles!  (I'm goin' with the flow of thought here people!)

And what's the opposite of circles....your guessed it!

What do you think??  Is it a go?

On another note (no pun intended)...who's going to be the first to make fun of me for choosing the FIRST designer to be kicked off Design Star as my favorite!!  Whoa is me!  LOL.

Cuckoo for Camo

When Addison came home from Summer Camp yesterday, I found myself faced with a challenge.  She told me that they are learning about the military (to celebrate Memorial Day) and that everyone has to wear camouflage to camp today.  Addison is as girly as they come - and although she likes to fish and watch hunting shows with her daddy - she doesn't have a lick of camouflage in her closet.   I started making calls to some of my friends in the neighborhood that have little boys to see if they had any old camo t-shirts in their closets.  Low and behold, my friend's husband had an old pair of shorts that were on their way to the trash - score!

So last night, I made Addie a headband to wear today.  Of course I had to add a little pink (for fear that she wouldn't wear it otherwise).  I love the way it came out!

It was a big hit when I dropped her off - and the director said that all of the kids who wore camo today get a special treat!  Yay for Addison!  Have a great Wednesday!!

Oceans of Thanks

The past few days have been so busy!  My sister's baby shower is coming fast, and I spent most of the week making her invitations.  I can't wait to show you everything I am doing for the shower - I wish I didn't have to keep it all a surprise.  I'm not good at happy surprises, I admit it.  I get so excited about good, happy news that I have a hard time keeping it to myself.  BUT, since I spoiled the date for my sister's bridal shower (and then had to change the date), I guess I better keep this one under wraps.

In addition to those invitations, yesterday I received a request for a custom listing in my Etsy shop.  This customer was interested in some thank you cards for a birthday party that she was throwing for her son and daughter at a nearby aquarium.  She pretty much left the design up to me (love that!), but just asked for it to fit her theme and incorporate the party colors (turquoise, orange and pink).  As soon as she told me the theme and color scheme, I immediately had an idea in my head.

They came out exactly how I had envisioned them.  Now I just have to finish assembling and ship them out!

I Love You Tutu Much - Day 27

Including today, there are only 4 days to go in my Craft Challenge so today I wanted to accomplish two things:
1. Make Addison a fun little Valentine's Gift to give her when she comes home from school
2.  Try something new that I have been wanting to make for a long time

And....that leads me to this adorable little Tutu that I made this morning!

Addie loves pink - SERIOUSLY loves pink, so I paired a pale pink shimmery tulle with some white - alternating around the waist band.  When I was done, it still needed something - more pink and more sparkle.  So I looked through my fabric, found this pink satin and made a posey, sewed a crystal bead to the center and attached some pink and white polka dot grosgrain ribbon.  I was nervous to make these for some reason - but it was totally easy!

I have been wanting to make these for some of the craft shows I have coming up, and for my Etsy Shop.  I think I may become a tutu making fool!!  These are fun!

Till tomorrow!  Happy Valentine's Day everyone!!

Day 17 - Valentines for my sweetie!

Happy Friday Everyone!!!

Addie's teacher sent home the class roster yesterday which reminded me that I better get a jump on her class valentines!!  I {heart} these that I whipped up today.  I may do some type of treat bag as well, but for today, just the cards.  I need to pace myself!

I also stopped into Joann's today to pick up their class schedule.  Looks like I will be learning to sew on Feb 12th!  Just in time to end my 30-day challenge...

Till tomorrow!  Have a wonderful weekend!
