Let's Get Fancy!

Today was "Dress Like Your Favorite Book Character" day at Addie's school.  After a week long debate (Belle, Cinderella, Silly Sally and Rapunzel), she finally decided to go with Fancy Nancy.  I just had to share these pics with you - I thought she looked so cute this morning, and she was "So Excited"!  In Addison's words, "Do you like my transformation?  Transformation is a fancy word for change".

So, in the spirit of Fancy Nancy, I thought I would also share one of my new tutus.  I had a request for an all white tutu with a pink posie like the one I had made for Addie.  I decided to use a white shimmery tulle as well as some ivory.  I also tried a new waistband - this one is more of a custom fit.

So fancy!  I love making these tutus - they just put a smile on my face!!

I Love You Tutu Much - Day 27

Including today, there are only 4 days to go in my Craft Challenge so today I wanted to accomplish two things:
1. Make Addison a fun little Valentine's Gift to give her when she comes home from school
2.  Try something new that I have been wanting to make for a long time

And....that leads me to this adorable little Tutu that I made this morning!

Addie loves pink - SERIOUSLY loves pink, so I paired a pale pink shimmery tulle with some white - alternating around the waist band.  When I was done, it still needed something - more pink and more sparkle.  So I looked through my fabric, found this pink satin and made a posey, sewed a crystal bead to the center and attached some pink and white polka dot grosgrain ribbon.  I was nervous to make these for some reason - but it was totally easy!

I have been wanting to make these for some of the craft shows I have coming up, and for my Etsy Shop.  I think I may become a tutu making fool!!  These are fun!
