Friday I'm In Love - with a Little Twist!

Happy Friday everyone!!  I wanted to do something a little different this week for my 7th! Edition of Friday I'm In Love.  Usually I choose 5 of my favorite blog posts/projects for the week, but this week I wanted to focus on one EXTREMELY talented lady.  Some of you may know (and some may not) that my love for crafts started with paper.  I LOVE designing stationery, and to this day, it is by far the most soothing and rewarding thing I do.

A few years ago I came upon Lori's blog - Paper and Thread.  Her creativity is amazing, and her designs are so inspirational to me.  She is the reason I decided to get a sewing machine!  Not for fabric - but to incorporate stitching into my stationery designs.  Her work is so beautifully crafted, and each and every piece is one of a kind.

Lori designs everything -  wedding invitations, save the dates, children's party invitations, corporate stationery - you name it!  What started out as a home studio has grown, and in the last 6 months she has opened up her own studio!  She's kind of my idol!

Here are are just a few of my favorite things she designed (I really love everything, but you'll have to visit her blog to see it all)!!

Beautiful, right?  I love her stuff!!

Have a great Friday!  Don't forget to tune in tonight for Saturday Social!!

Addison's Birthday Preparation

Addie's birthday is rapidly approaching, and after many themes tossed about, she finally decided on a Movie Party!!  This was music to my ears, because we just happen to have a movie theater in our neighborhood clubhouse.  Easy Peasy, and MUCH cheaper than having it at the roller skating rink.  Her invites need to get out this week, and I finished the mock up last night.  The details need to be tightened up, but this is the design we are going with!

I wanted the invite to resemble a movie ticket.  The color scheme was hard to decide on, but in the end I went with Hollywood Glamour - Silver, Gold and Black!

I don't know if it really picked up in these photos, but I wanted all of the gold letters to sparkle.  Since I am printing these all at home, and foiling is out of the question, I used a clear glittery gel pen to color over all of the gold letters.  This left it with a shimmer - and in person, it looks awesome!

You can kind of see the sparkle more in this image below...

OK - invite design down, now I have to start printing and assembling.  Luckily the theater has limited seating, so I only have 16 invites to make.  I need to get these out!

UPDATE:  The printable files for these invitations are now available in my Etsy Shop.

Bad Girl

Hi Friends!  I am a bad, bad blogger!!  Sorry I have been so absent the past few days - with the holiday and work I have been slammed!

I am in the midst of so many unfinished projects right now - one of which will be part of a guest post I am doing on the CSI Project next week!!  More on that soon!

I promise to post something fun hopefully tonight or tomorrow.  In the meantime - thanks for being awesome!!

Saturday Social Features

Hey Everyone!  I am so sorry I didn't post these favorites last night.  It has been a crazy sun filled, event packed weekend, and I fell asleep on the couch last night.  I tried to keep my peepers open, but in the end, just couldn't do it.

This week there were some really amazing projects linked up - thank you everyone for participating - it was a great party!!  So great, in fact, that I couldn't decide on just three.  So here are my FOUR features from the week's Saturday Social!

The first is a DIY Boutonniere that Anna made at Blissful Whimsy Events.  I was so impressed with these - she made them with her mom the morning of the wedding using plants and flowers from their garden!!  So perfect - casual yet elegant.

Look at these No Melt Fourth of July Snacks from Garden of Eden Goods.  There is no ice cream in there - but these look great and the kids love them too!  Kindra, these look amazing!!

This Spiral French Braid by Nancy's Couture stopped me in my tracks.  How awesome is this?  Nancy says this is easy, so I am going to try this on my daughter.  (If I can get her to sit still long enough)!  How perfect would this be for a dance recital or gymnastics meet?

And finally - I am once again inspired by Lucy at Craftberry Bush.  I couldn't for the life of me decide what to do with my old window - but look at how creative she was using one as a backdrop for her garden??  The colors of these cans make it - I love all of the pretty shades of blue and green!

Thanks again for linking up this week!  Please feel free to grab a button from my sidebar if you were featured.

I hope you all have a fabulous Fourth of July today!  Once again - I'm off to the lake for some cookouts, friends  and Fireworks!!

Hey everyone!  I know you are all probably busy this holiday weekend, but don't forget to link up for this week's Saturday Social!  There's only 3 hours left!

Hope you're having a great 4th celebration.  I have to tend to my sunburn from yesterday - ouch!
