My Craft Room - Work in Progress

When my husband, Justin, asked me what I wanted for Christmas, the only thing that I REALLY wanted was more storage for my craft room - yes, I'm a dork!  So, Christmas morning, I opened up a really cool metal desk organizer.  "You can take it back if it's not what you want", Justin said.  Am I that obvious?  I really did like what he got me, only at the time I was working on one of those big plastic banquet tables - the unit probably would have been too heavy.

So, I spent the next few days searching online looking for storage ideas.  What I really needed was a desk.  A beautiful white desk that I have seen in the Pottery Barn catalog for years - one with a large table top and storage cubbies.  Something told me though that the $160 table unit he got me wouldn't exactly be an even trade for the $1,000 desk I desired.

That's when I discovered a tutorial at Anything Pretty on how to make said desk for 1/10th of the cost.  My poor husband  had no idea that he was elected to make this desk for me, but after asking (and batting my eyes a bit), he agreed, and off we went to buy the supplies.

A few days later, it is done - and I LOVE it!  3'x6' of workspace and a ton of storage.  I want to go and buy some canvas storage cubes, but for now, I am using what I have.  This of course has inspired me to get the rest of the room done.

It's a work in progress, but I am so happy with it!  Thanks Justin!!  Now I need to get to work on some of the orders I have!!  Check out the pics!
