Tales from Unemployment

Today marks one week since I lost my job.  For those of you who don't know, I was layed off from my full time job last week, but am looking at this from a "Take the Bull by the Horns" perspective.  Having this extra time between jobs gives me the opportunity to focus on Social Salutations - time that I have been longing for.  I have gotten so much accomplished in this first week - renovated my blog, got the craft room situated, fulfilled orders, posted some new things in my Etsy shop, and even sold my first order to a retailer!     I can only go up from here, right?

When I started this venture about a year ago, I had my "I'm going to get this thing up in running in less than a year" blinders on.  Even though I know full well that starting up a small business takes time - especially when you work full time!  In this past year, I have learned so much - and I'm not done yet.

So - I just need to keep pushing on - even when it's 3am and I can't keep my eyes open anymore!  Social Salutations is what I make it.  My hard work will pay off, and then I can successfully do what I love.  2011 is going to be my year, I can feel it.

Thanks for listening.  I am open to any and all business advice, orders, referrals and cash donations!  :o)
