I've been keeping busy with my Etsy shop though - have expended my stationery line and am introducing more printable invitations as we speak. I have also been designing some cute themes for friends and clients that found me through word of mouth as well. Morgan had his first birthday party in March (will share pics soon), and Addison's 7th birthday is coming up in about a month.
This blog is most likely going to be moving in a new direction. I'm still working out all of the details in my head. It's not at all a planned endeavor, I just want to focus more. I will definitely be posting less than I used to - no more 1x per day - can't hack it. I miss writing - and sharing, so I want to get back to the way it was when I started...just a fun way to share the things I love - at my leisure.
XOXO
Just to let you know, I read this post, and I think you are not the only one feeling the pressures of blogging. I have, and my 4 kiddos are 11-16 yrs old. Blogging can be put off, but time invested in our children and family certainly can't afford the sacrifice. Good decision, and I hope you do well in the future planning. :)
ReplyDeleteI know exactly how you feel! I felt the same way last year. Not only did I put my blog aside, but I deleted it entirely! That's how "done" I was with it. It turned into a major life stressor. After a year, I missed it and decided to approach mine in a different way too..in fact with a whole new blog. It's different for everyone. Hang in there and make the blog work for you...not the other way around. :) Looking forward to your future posts and ideas.

I try not to let myself feel the need to blog on anyone's schedule but my own. Of course that's easier said than done. So I appreciate other bloggers who post when and if they can. If a post pops up in my reader, that's great. But if you check out for a while, that's perfectly okay too! ... And sometimes new directions are just what you need to get your mojo going again!
