Lego Party - Part 1

I know it seems like I haven't been working on ANYTHING lately, but in fact - I have been slammed with stationery orders.  My girlfriend Elizabeth placed an order with me to design custom invitations and party decor for her son Anderson's 5th Birthday.  Well, I took this as an opportunity to get my first party printable design completed for my Etsy shop.

Not only did I design the invitations, but I also created custom signage, bunting, cupcake toppers, favors and helped her style the event.  The party was this past weekend, and I am finishing up editing all of the photos, but in the meantime wanted to share the invitations with you.

I designed address label wraps that matched the invites - I'm loving this Lego font!

The invites themselves were so much fun to design.  I love all of the bright, primary colors!  It was a pool party, so I added a little note at the bottom for the kiddos to bring their towels and sunblock.

She was thrilled with the way they came out, and she received lots of compliments!  I will share the rest of the fun festivities tomorrow!  To be continued...

XOXO

My 30-Day Craft CHALLENGE!

The sun is finally out, and it's giving me all sorts of energy.  I have an announcement to make, and I need you all to hold me accountable.

Last week, I sat down and made a list of all of the things I want to make - not just for my Etsy shop or customers, but also for my house, and just to learn new techniques.  The list was oh so overwhelming to say the least.  So, last night it hit me.  What if I challenge myself to make one NEW thing every day?  Reporting it here will hold me accountable, and I can be super productive and break it down one project at a time.  For instance, you all saw my craft desk - did you happen to notice the sewing machine in the corner?

Yeah, that's the one....
Well, it's never been used.  I, in fact, haven't used a sewing machine since 7th grade Home Ec class, and it kind of scares me a little.  But, I WILL take a sewing class this month and use that thing if it kills me.

So, here it goes.  30 days of crafts...wish me luck!!

Here's my first complete project.  I have been wanting to design kids calling cards for awhile.  As a parent, I feel so bad when Addison comes home and asks to play with a friend that I wouldn't know their parents from my long lost relatives.  So, if she hands out some cards to her friends with my contact info on them - their moms can get in touch with me to set up a play date!

The color didn't come out quite as rich as I had wanted in these photos, but they're done right?

Till tomorrow!!
